Hi all I’m from Wolverhampton and only just bought a freelander 2 td4 gs . 13 plate . I have 1 issue . Oh it’s keyless start . Each time I unlock the doors I have a message to start the engine in 3 minutes or it will shut down . Is this going to be on all the time or is there a problem as I think there is with the battery . I got 1 months warranty with it . Thanks in advance. And hi to all

Hello and welcome to the forum. I can't really help with your issue, my landy has a cranking handle so I know nowt about keyless ignition but it might be worth changing the battery in the fob to see if that solves it.

What does your driver's handbook say?

I couldn’t find anything on this in the book . But I been reading it may be the battery . As it might have been parked up for some time . And also the stop start technology isn’t working . So im just seeing if anyone has had this problem also . Ta

I think you maybe right about the main battery.
I believe the stop/start tech checks battery condition and if it’s not enough will not work. Which is also possibly why you are getting your warning as well.

Best bet would be take it back and ask for a new battery.

Pretty sure Lord Hippo says disable keyless stop them being nicked - ie can be disabled.

The Freelander 2 was designed with common sense. It doesn't have "theif assist" which is also know as keyless entry which lr put ont lesser vehicles. Eggsplination over ere:
