Good day to all...

Have a 2000/W Land Rovery discovery td5
5 speed manual..

Drives lovely when driving gently and normally buttttt as soon as you put your foot down it starts to jerk? like holding back or missing but ease of and its ok..

Just bought the landy and found the fuel filter very very rusty and changed it but not much difference..

Would appreciate some feedback pleassssssE..

Thanks

Azz:confused::confused::confused::confused:

If the filter is full of crap, there's a fair chance that the fuel pickup in the tank is partially blocked with crap too. Sounds like you have a bad lot of fuel, unless she has been sitting for quite a while. If the former is the case, I think you'd be better draining the tank and refilling before the injectors are affected.

the best would be to plug in a tester first to see if it's management or fuel supply related...untill then see the common things, oil in the ECU red plug, clogged EGR if fitted, there's a strainer under the FPR which is to be checked, but if there are any fault codes it would point you directly to the issue, if no faults logged it's fuel supply problem

Hi All
I have a similar problem. It's ok up to about 2700 revs even foot hard down but then it stutters and won't pull. it's ok up to about 3500 on light load. I am going to get it fault-code checked next Sat. Will let you know the result.
By the way, do I need to disconnect teh battery before I unplug the ECU red plug?

i'd be very curious how would you check the red plug without disconnecting the negative baterry lead:D

????? I'm being dim - why could you not? Different places, different connections...?? Anyway, I'd disconnect the battery just in case. Just interested....A

OK. So.
Boost modulator made it a bit better. Backed off the waistgate rod a bit. Bit better but less power. Then found the wastegate stuck. Well, more sticky than stuck. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it sticks.

I have wiggled it quite a lot and put copperslip in the actuator arm bearing as best I can. It's less sticky. Reset actuator arm to 13 threads showing.

If it is still juddering, how do I free off the wastegate, short of taking the turbo off? ANy suggestions?

Was about to test it and noticed water leaking from the water pump. I love Land Rovers.

mine does this as well exactly the same
where is this red plug so i can check it????

cheers
