Hi!
I'm new to this forum, live in Norway and are a owner of a 2001 freelander in great shape!
My trouble started with the tailgate power window, changed the complete motor with wires!
After instalation i calibrated the window and everything worked fine!
After a while the battery was empty and i disconected it for charging, when reconection nothing in the tailgate works:-(
I changed the wiper motor, checked conections on all wiring in the rear, switched relays with the dooropener that still works.
I've tried almost everything now and start to loose my patience.
No power at the rear washer relay in the front. All fuses ok!
Is it a relay for the rear wiper and does anyone know where it's located?
I've looked thru most threads on this forum but none helps me:-(

So please anyone:)
Thanks
Tommy

When you reconnected the battery after charging it...did the tailgate glass drop right down into the door, as it should have?

At first it did, but somehow it stopped working.
I disconected all again and tried one more time
But still don't work:-(

If all is well with your regulator the glass should have fully dropped after reconnecting the battery - drive it back up with the dash switch and recalibration complete...the wiper etc will not work until after recalibration.

It doesent go down when i reconect the battery, and won't work with the switch:-(
The regulator is the one behind the fuse box right?

Thats the problem or part of it ...it should.

Check for any obstructions that could stop the glass from dropping - numerous threads on here for other causes.

The regulator is the wire/motor assembly that operates the glass :)

I have messured all wiring in the back and it is ok!
Tried to switch the relays and both works ok!
I might have to try and borrow the steering unit behind the fuse box and check if it works!
This part is expensive here in Norway. (Everything is)

Thank you for answers to my post:)

If the window is down or partly down nothing else will work. If disconnecting and reconnecting the battery doesn't drop the window. Check the window motor and cables are ok. Even though it is a recent unit it may have failed.
