Hello,

How do you disconnect the cable at the instrument end please? It's very hard for me to see what's there and I don't want to damage it. The inner cable is already exposed from the sheath.

I'm trying to replace my water temp gauge and would like as much room to work as possible.

Cheers.

It's snapped

There are two plastic tangs to push to release

it kind of unclicks, mine has a couple of bits that click it in to place, i pulled out by mistake and thought i had broken it but it pushed back in ok

That probably explains why it jumps around so much. It's been much less jumpy since I had a look at it yesterday and pushed the sheath back over the cable. I can feel a temporary gaffer tape solution coming on. At least until it's a bit warmer. I imagine it's great fun getting it out at the t box end.

Twist the speedo end of the core and with any luck it should drop back in at the T box end.

Otherwise you have to unscrew a small bolt in the cover plate and relocate it there. It's a simple enough job ... Ain't they all!! :) :)

At the speedo the sheath clicks into place once you have lined up the centre

That's exactly what happened to me. I was feeling around, trying locate and pull out the tabs when the whole thing came away, followed by much swearing, but it all clicked back together in the end.
