On Wed 25th July the Server that Landyzone is on will have to be shut down for essential maintenance This will happen at 08:00 and should only take around 30 minutes. I'm hoping that this won't ruin anyones day/week/month but I know how some of you need your morning fix before being able to tackle the world:D:D (in works time of course) Hopefully everything should be back up and running normally as quickly as possible.
I have added a new section to the site for product reviews. This is for us all to share our experience with various land rover/4x4 accessories. This section will take quite a while to build up, but everyone can help! Anyone can 'upload' a new product, and anyone can review that product once it has been uploaded. You do not need to own the product to upload it but if you review the product then please do so only if you have actual experience. We want all products to have at least one matching photograph, so please remember that before uploading. Please let me know if you think the categories could be arranged better or added to, it's been quite a bit of work to get it all going so my head is a bit fuzzy now! :) Just click...
As you are all aware, The ability to take the **** and have the **** taken out of each other is widly accepted on this forum. People come onto this forum to socialise and to ask for help when needed. It has been noted that just recently when people are asking for help they are being barraged with comments and posts that are neither helpful nor constructive. It is one thing to take the micky out of a well established member who you may know. It is a different ball game when it comes to a newcomer asking for help and being told where to get off or what he or she should do with their choice of vehicle We do not wish to discourage banter but please can you try and reserve it where possible for the general forums rather than the vehicle...
I've just uploaded the photos from today's funday at Briercliffe near Burnley.. It was another good day out and lots of fun was had by all by the looks of it! The rain for the last week made sure there was a good bit of mud and water to play in.. I still think 30 quid is a bit to much though! Briercliffe 4x4 Funday 03-10-04 - Click Here :):):):):):):)
I have integrated the alt.fan.landrover usenet newsgroup into LandyZone. This gives us access to even more land rover information and more people to interact with. If you make a post in that section then it will be sent out into the newsgroup. Please read the announcement in the alt.fan.landrover forum for more information. You have to have over 10 posts to be able to post a message into that section, this is due to posts being sent all over the world and not just remaining on our server :) we don't want annoying people to abuse the newsgroup and tarnish the landyzone name, do we! :)
Recently there have been a few requests for a [How To] Forum. You will notice that all vehicle categories in the Land Rover Talk area now have a sub forum for this. The idea is to keep the useful info in the correct category making it easy to find, and to keep them free from clutter. Anyone can create a thread in the sub forums, but they will not apear until they are approved. Each thread will be discussed in the Secure Unit (god help us) then once approved will appear it the correct sub forum, with an obvious title. There are already many useful threads around the site, if you think any are good enough, point them out to a mod and we will copy them for approval.
Found this out from the plod: From the 15th February 08 all the Speed Cameras in the Variable Speed Limit section of the M25 near Heathrow Airport (JCT 10-15) are going Digital and the activation limit is being lowered. They are currently the older film type cameras and Set at 90mph when the Variable Limit Signs are not in operation. The new digital cameras are going to be set at the normal 10% 0f the speed limit + 2mph (80mph + and you're taking a risk basically) when the signs are not in use i.e. national speed limit. I can't confirm the activation limit when the signs are set (variable limits showing) but believe it would be the same 10% + 2mph of the speed shown by the sign at that time.

Contrary to common belief last night was NOT about heavy handed modding. It was about keeping deliberate SPAM off Landyzone. Last night happened because members of another site decided they were going to make a seemingly innocent question up and then answer it with a link to their site. DESPITE WHAT IS BEING DENIED ELSEWHERE THE PERSON LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WAS AN ALTER EGO OF THE SAME PERSON HE HIMSELF WAS LOOKING FOR. That is all that needs to be known. They were dealt with in the same way that any other spammer is dealt with. WE DO NOT LIKE BANNING PEOPLE AND DO NOT WANT TO BAN PEOPLE. PLEASE DON'T MAKE US HAVE TO CONTINUE.
