Thought it was about time i made a post about all the recent goings on with language etc. As i'm sure everyone is aware, especialy regulars, at Landyzone we have taken a different approach to bad language than other LR forums. Up until recently i think it's gone pretty well. Since we've had some new moderators things seem to have changed a little, whether that is just a coincidence or not i'm not sure. Either way there has only ever been one guide line, and that has been to keep harsh language off the main forums. (if anyone wishes to know what they are PM, don't use this as an excuse to use them). Something that you don't mind might easily offend others. My feeling now, is that people are beginning to take the **** a little to see how...

Just thought i'd make a quick point about the Email notifications for P.M's on the site. When anyone receives an email from us there is a big notice on them that says PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. However it seems that people do so anyway. Although i love reading all the miss sent P.M's you should know that by replying to the email, your chosen recipient doesn't recieve the message, therfore they probably think that you are ignorant gits for not replying:D As said this aint a problem for me but it needs pointing out so that your messages go where you want them to. Hope this makes sense peeps:doh:

The number of minimum posts to post in the for sale section has now changed to 50. This is due to the amount of spam that we are still getting with it set to 10, and the amount of people that are not receiving things that they buy. Sorry to any of you genuine users, once again some people have spoiled it for others

Ok chaps ive got round to doing the engines forum. Ive tried to set them up how i think is sensible. ie series engines in one forum, cos i can't see them being overly busy. Anyway have a look and feel free to offer advise on any changes. I will probably tell you to **** off but you can try:D

I've just found a promising looking new website. Located at http://www.landroversreunited.com this is a well designed Land Rover version of friends reunited. You can enter details of land rovers you own or have owned and hopefully when the database is built up you will be able to do searches for land rovers you used to own and see where they are now. On Friday 04th November 2011 at 7.30pm on the A49 ay Prees/Prees Green a 206 Peugeot carrying a 5 year old, a 3 year old a pregnant woman and her partner were heading out towards Shrewsbury on the South side of Prees coming into the 50 MPH limit when a 4x4 ploughed into the back of the car crushing the children and injuring all four. Over the last couple of days I have upgraded all the software that runs this site. I'm still not finished yet and there will be bugs... If you have any problems posting in the forums then you may have to do a hard refresh. To do this hold down your CTRL key and press F5. The gallery/reviews/classifieds sections are not complete yet, but should be finished today.

If you receive spam via pm please can you click the report triangle on the right hand side of the message and then just delete or ignore it. The latest user to be sending these pm's is 'Serendipity'. They have been banned but I don't know how many of you receieved pm's prior to them being shown the door. Cheers.

Some of you may have noticed that the forum was down for some time last night. This was due to a rather large crash and the resulting time needed to recover from it. There may need to be more downtime/slowdowns as we investigate further problems with the server and increase backup intervals incase it all goes tits up before the solution is found. If the forum is gone, I will keep you as updated as I can by twitter and facebook. I have removed the old classifieds software and we will now accept for sale and wanted adds in the main forums. Please make sure you post in the correct forum category. I'm happy to announce that if all goes to plan then LandyZone will be moving to UK servers tomorrow(8th Feb). There will be about an hour or two downtime in the morning and when we come back, we should be faster than ever and no longer in the hands of the Americans! On Wed 25th July the Server that Landyzone is on will have to be shut down for essential maintenance This will happen at 08:00 and should only take around 30 minutes. I'm hoping that this won't ruin anyones day/week/month but I know how some of you need your morning fix before being able to tackle the world:D:D (in works time of course) Hopefully everything should be back up and running normally as quickly as possible.

Every now and again we outgrow our hardware, that time is once again upon us. Next week we will be moving to another server, this time one which will be easier to upgrade and expand from. There will probably be around 6-7 hours downtime and slowdowns as backups are made and the new server is ramped up... So if you turn up and get no response then you will know why!
