Ok i'm hoping some new members who can't post or start threads may look in here, (hence the shouting) If you are a new member and can't post yet it is probably because you have not clicked on the link in the confirmation email that was sent to you by Landyzone. These emails are often filtered out as junk, particularly if you are stupid enough to have AOL or Norton. Once the link has been clicked you should be up and running. However for those of you that have done this and can't log in, Note that Usernames and Passwords ARE case specific. As the passwords are automatically generated by the server, they may not read as a word. 0 may be o for example. Try to copy and paste from the email. I'm praying that this message reaches the...

Thought it was about time i made a post about all the recent goings on with language etc. As i'm sure everyone is aware, especialy regulars, at Landyzone we have taken a different approach to bad language than other LR forums. Up until recently i think it's gone pretty well. Since we've had some new moderators things seem to have changed a little, whether that is just a coincidence or not i'm not sure. Either way there has only ever been one guide line, and that has been to keep harsh language off the main forums. (if anyone wishes to know what they are PM, don't use this as an excuse to use them). Something that you don't mind might easily offend others. My feeling now, is that people are beginning to take the **** a little to see how...
Hi, we're getting a big amount of people emailing saying they're not sure why they have had a payment coming out of their account and that they don't recognise the company name, We're sorry about the confusion - our company Firmedge runs LandyZone, which is why payments are being made to Firmedge! We have been responding to all emails questioning the transaction and I posted about it in the other thread a few days ago but I think its been lost so decided to make a new thread, The renewal of the subscription is automatic and takes place annually, the same day you purchased initially You can cancel at any time through paypal if you wish to stop this payment. Once again I am sorry for the confusion this has caused! In other news, we're...
After several requests we now have a classified advert section for members to use to sell or buy land rovers or land rover products. Posting for sale or wanted ads is totally free for private users. Commercial users are asked to link back to us from there own website before they use our classified section. (better than having to pay though!:)) The only thing in this section now is a test DiscoIII advert just as an example. Only adverts with pictures are displayed on the featured adverts display, you are advised to always use a photo, but this is not compulsory. Please feel free to use this system! At the moment all registered users are free to post adverts, this may change if things do not work out.
You may have noticed some downtime of the forum in the last few weeks. This is due to the large amount of traffic the forum is now getting. I have been tweaking the server but at the end of the day it's time for new hardware. I've ordered a new server which should be available this weekend and should solve the downtime problems and increase the speed of the site. Its an uber super server with octoprocs and gigabananas and scsi's and flashy lights. Only problem is it costs a bloody fortune. I'm not one to normally beg, but most any forum(especially big ones) usually have a donation section so users can help to pay for the costs involved in keeping us running. We've got thousands of visitors to this site every day and if only a few...
Electric Winch shop are our new sponsors of Green Laning - Land Rover Zone and Anything goes http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f37/ This has come about from us buying some winch equipment from these guys and them paying an interest in the site. Chris made a fine entry to LandyZone which some of you might remember, by posting a picture of an Emmerdale hottie in anything goes;):D winch-shop-chris & winch-shop-steve are very helpful chaps and i'm sure they will be able to bring good advice and offers to our members. :welcome2:
Just thought i'd make a quick point about the Email notifications for P.M's on the site. When anyone receives an email from us there is a big notice on them that says PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. However it seems that people do so anyway. Although i love reading all the miss sent P.M's you should know that by replying to the email, your chosen recipient doesn't recieve the message, therfore they probably think that you are ignorant gits for not replying:D As said this aint a problem for me but it needs pointing out so that your messages go where you want them to. Hope this makes sense peeps:doh:
Ok chaps ive got round to doing the engines forum. Ive tried to set them up how i think is sensible. ie series engines in one forum, cos i can't see them being overly busy. Anyway have a look and feel free to offer advise on any changes. I will probably tell you to **** off but you can try:D
I have removed the old classifieds software and we will now accept for sale and wanted adds in the main forums. Please make sure you post in the correct forum category. Here are the new rules for the for sale section: LandyZone has now incorporated the Classifieds into the forum instead of being in external software. Here are the rules for the new for sale section: You must use a thread prefix, this is so people can see at a glance what it is you are selling and so we can sort by vehicle type(the thread prefixes are the type of vehicle you are listing). Please include your location in thread title, or at least somewhere in your post. No ****taking in for sale or wanted threads, please keep on topic and only ask questions about the...
we at admin control center are currently tidying up LZ, with a view to upgrading stuff. so can yer not stick 'for sale' ads in the general forum sections. there is a 'for sale ' section so can y'all use it?
It has been pointed out that there are certain rules that need highlighting to members. The main one being the posting of Private Messages. P.M's are Private Messages and should stay that way. Anyone posting private messages on the forum without permission of the sender will be banned. Also every member should be aware of our Terms Of Service/Acceptable use policy. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/lztos.pdf Any rules that need highlighting may be added to this when necessary.
LandyZone is now offering forum sponsorship for all individual forums. You will notice on the main forum home page that some forums are beginning to be sponsored by land rover related companies. Any companies that sponsor forums will be allowed to advertise their products on the site. Some of these sponsors may be offering discounts for LandyZone members, so be sure to ask if you contact them. We are also offering commercial accounts if you have a Land Rover related business and would like to post in the forums about it. Commercial Account users and Forum Sponsors names will appear in orange in posts and on the userlist. For further details, send me a message or email, and I will give you the details.
