I'm having trouble selecting reverse gear in my 2002 discovery. It goes in without grating but I have wiggle it about to find the gear? Could it be a bias plate problem or could it be more serious?

Thanks for the advice This is the first time I have replaced shocks on a vehicle and I only heard about priming after fitting them. If I use the Disco off road and articulate the axle surely this will prime them? I will try it first before removing them again.

Many thanks for all your advice. We have ended up replacing the rad' (£170) and we have flushed the gear box out, the motor is now back on the road with no damage to the clutch.

The Rangie is at the garage now, we're just worried what the estimate for repair might be. Can the rad be repaired or has it got to be replaced? And if the oil has got onto the clutch plate what seals will need replacing? :mad:
