    IID Gap diagnostics tool

Hi all. My father Graham (Maurand) was a member here and loved it the community. I'm logged in as him as he passed away recently and I need your help please. One of the things he left us was gap IIDControl tool for his beloved D3. I know he had used it on the car recently and I can see the VIN...

Disco 2 Front window dropped down.

Thank you all for advice, a little (quiet a lot in fact) bit of brute force with two bits of wood and my wife operating the window switch it's come up. It seems as though it dropped too far into the door. Why I don't know and what caused it or what the damage is to reg and motor will have to...

Disco 2 Front window dropped down.

Thanks but it won't move. Stuck fast that's the problem at the moment. If I could get it moving I'd be fine. Again thank you. Graham

Disco 2 Front window dropped down.

Thanks, but yes I've looked in the door. That's how I know the window lift channel is perfect. No rust and lots of grease. The glass still sits in the window channels each side. Managed to get the motor running a little but looking like the teeth on either the reg or the motor. Until I get the...

Disco 2 Front window dropped down.

Morning, May I please ask for some advice. The passenger side from window dropped to the bottom of the door and at the moment stuck fast down though it tries to go up. But not enough to get to the window lift channel which is perfect. Not sure if it's the motor or the regulator because it...

raise disco 3 air suspention without engine running

If you have enough battery just pull the suspension relay, number R7 in the engine bay fuse box. Jump the two large terminals together with some decent thick wire and the compressor will run. Note the two larger terminals not the two smaller ones are the ones you connect together ! Works, I...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

John, Thanks, the Foxwell NT510 I've got does almost everything one would need on a D3 even the SAS but it won't do live data on that so I don't know where it 'thinks' the wheels are pointing if you get my drift. It really does need a Gap iid. But the NT510 is excellent with the D2. Should have...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Not just in reply to you John, but I'm fully aware of the costs of running a £40K car. Seems as though what I've written has been taken wrongly. I just don't want to spend £500 on a new reader unless I have to, if I do then I'll get one... This car has been a problem from just after my sister...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

What I wrote was tongue in cheek....I'm very lucky (?) that the car was given to me. In the three to four years my sister owned it cost her (she says) 10.000 but what euros or real money I don't know. A replacement engine, plus all belts etc, new brakes all round and to be honest they're s***e...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

WHAT four hundred quid.....? Go easy for pities sake.....the car already owes me two fifty, a hundred to go and bring it back from France, a hundred and fifty for MOT and new rear brake pipes.....and now I find it needs a new rear wiper blade. Where's it all going to end ? Okay, seriously I've...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Yes I understand what you're on about. But surely at system check the 12.2 Volts should be enough. On the D2 if the battery is low it won't do a system check without leaving some warning lights on. But as soon as I can I'll do what you suggest. Thank you. sorry for the delay, other more...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Well, unfortunately (?) the SAS is fixed fast to the column and not loose. Easy fix out of the door. This was checked by video and feeling it. So going to have to delve deeper now. Battery was at 12.5 Volts when I checked it, this was after seats had been moved back and forth, interior lights...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Thanks Gary, from a D3 forum thread the 5773 degree readings ended up as a loose sensor so I'll try there soon. Thanks again to all for their help, and advice.

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Hi Gary, Thank you for the input, tried the DSC though heard and felt nothing. Got the panels off but seems like I've got to take some more off to see the sensor, its higher up the column than I thought and rain has just stopped play again. The Foxwell shows live data but not the degrees...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Thanks for your reply. No, it's the SE without the 4x4 screen unfortunately. Been thinking about the SAS, one of the reasons I've got this car stems from when my sister called about a warning light (final straw as far as she was concerned). She was towing on wet grass and I think it was the TC...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Yes I fully agree with you, but until January I only had the D2 V8 and the Foxwell is perfect for that, does everything. Seems to offer most things on the D3 but it will not 'see' the engine for what ever reason which it does on the other car. Still not sure what I'm keeping. Not had much time...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Thank you, that I will check. But I do have to find out if the Foxwell will indeed reset the SAS otherwise I'm wasting time with it. Thanks again.....

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Thank you all for your advice but......! Battery fully charged, stop light bulbs changed, hard reset done. But still have the HDC warning. Okay I've got a lot to read up on, not that familiar with the D3 at all. The Foxwell NT510 reads and erases fault codes but one thing does keep coming up...

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Bulbs looked perfect but there's a full set of new bulbs in the car, so changed the two stop bulbs with Osrams which should be of sufficient quality but no change....... I know the systems talk to each other, wish one of them would talk to me and tell me what the f*** is wrong.

    Disco 3 (LR3) HDC fault.

Thank you for your reply, yes I understand what you mean. Maybe I used the wrong word, going round the block where I live is a few miles, enough to get the oils flowing and the engine up to temp. While the tyres are over 40psi hopefully it'll help to stop flat spots. As for the battery, well it...
