Not much of a update but I have the freelander back and engine is ok no HGF, lucky enough the cutting out happened when at the garage which has led the machanic to believe it has a blockage in the exhaust system so I will be taking the exhaust of soon and will check

yes but to me it was blocked even tho coolant was coming out when I replaced the gasket on the inlet, i did clean it is was full of cr@p in side the manifold side of it

Thanks for the reply, I have also changed the inlet manifold gasket as it was leaking and I believe I bleed the system correctly can this also contribute to a possible air lock and such symptoms?
