Sorry mate u'll have to bear with me dont know a great deal regarding diffs barring the basics, dont no if what ive put above has made sence, i was thinking if the pinnion bearings were ####*ed then rather than strip it down it would be easier for me to just buy a replacement diff and put that...

Thanks for that mate. ill be sure to check that when I get round to pulling it all apart, if it was one of the pinion bearings as you said i may try find a cheap replacement diff in decent as condition as i can find and put that in.

Who said i was 'forcing it hard' on full lock?? I said its producing the banging/knocking noise the most while its on full lock or a tight turn ie a tight turning circle, 90 degree turn out of a road etc. Do you actually think im just driving around in cirlces on full lock or somethink? Thanks...
