New tyres on the back instead of the front?

I've gone ahead and had the 2 new tyres put on the back and the rear ones put on the front. The 2 new tyres are General grabbers UHP but the car now feels like I'm fighting with the steering and it also keeps going 'light'. Tyre dealer reckoned it would be fine to have 'normal' tyres on the...

New tyres on the back instead of the front?

How do you mean 'drove like a pig'?

New tyres on the back instead of the front?

Yes, when I bought my car it had 2 matching tyres on the back plus 2 different makes on the front resulting in 3 different makes altogether. I can see how this happens as a number of tyre outlets said that I only needed to replace one tyre on the front.

New tyres on the back instead of the front?

Yes, the VCU is there. I think I just misunderstood how my freelander's 4WD was set up!

New tyres on the back instead of the front?

Thanks for the interesting description - I now know how the 4WD works and also why to put new tyres on the back.

New tyres on the back instead of the front?

I've got it wrong then. I thought that my freelander was just in front wheel drive and 4wd only kicked in when the going got tough!!

New tyres on the back instead of the front?

My front 2 tyres need changing on my TD4 Freelander 1. However, when I look in the manual it says that if you're putting on 2 new tyres they should go on the back and the back ones on the front. Anyone know why??? I'd have thought that if my car is front wheel drive then new tyres on the front...

    Flashing battery Light.

I have an intermittent fault where my battery warning light is flashing very fast and at the same time the headlights are pulsating! The lights/warning light pulsate at the same level and don't change with varying engine speeds. My local garage has put a meter on it when it's playing-up but the...

    Key for roof-bars

Hi, I contacted Stratstones at Chelt and they suggested Halfords would be cheaper as the bars are actually made by Thule. Ordered from Halfords today for £15. Problem solved...cheers! ;)

    Key for roof-bars

I have some roof-bars which came with my freelander which I think are genuine Landrover. However there is no key with them. There is a number stamped on each lock (082) which I'm assuming is not Lowe & Fletcher as I would have thought L&F would be on each lock? Dealer can't help...he just wants...

    Alloy Wheel Locking Nut Remover

If it comes off undamaged we can get the correct key off e-bay and use the nut again and then I'll have a means of removing the spare if I have a puncture. Could buy a new set but trying to save money.

    Alloy Wheel Locking Nut Remover

Oh o.k. Best force the nut off first and hopefully they'll be a code on the other side. Cheers

    Alloy Wheel Locking Nut Remover

Thanks for this. There's no code on the nut (see original pic) so I guess I'll have to ask the dealer what size locking key fits it.

    Alloy Wheel Locking Nut Remover

Thanks for ideas on forcing it off if we have to resort to this. I was hoping to obtain some sort of tool so that we could lock the spare wheel back on again; worried that it might get nicked. We live near Worcester so i could go to Egdons but woirried that they may have a pricey option and...

    Alloy Wheel Locking Nut Remover

I've recently bought a TD4 which the previous owner had replaced the locking wheel nuts for all 4 alloy wheels. However, the spare alloy wheel still has the original locking wheel nut on it and the removal tool for the new wheel nuts doesn't fit it. How can we get hold of the correct remover...
