As someone still learning about the Disco variations, is a D2 chassis frame longer than that of a D1, due to the extra rear overhang?

Just my 2p worth. Surely, REAL Landrovers usually suffer from rusty bulkheads, but my D1's bulkhead is totally rust free. It's everything else that's rusting away!!

I'm surprised that nobody has produced a fibreglass body to fit the Disco chassis, either in the original Disco style, or as a Defender looky likee. There must be 1000's of Discos with good chassis, but with knackered bodies.

Did this same job last week, took about 2 hours to do. Quite straight forward, loosen the fan nut and the water and steering pump bolts BEFORE removing the drive belt. Just be glad that it's not a 200TDI - they are a bit more complex I believe!
