cheers mate thanks, iv'e only had my disco a couple of months and done the normal things engine service including timing belt bits and bats now to move on to gearbox and diffs, thanks again. If i change it every year doing average miles would that suffice ?

hi, before you spend money on a new battery try the main earth lead at the back of the battery ive had a few problems and after some sound advice found it was nothing more than a bad earth. ps i put a new earth wire on to the body as well

Costco 93p per litre bought it today, happy days!

Greetings people, just been to Costco wholesalers and got 45lts of veggie oil to use in my disco 300tdi it works out at 93p per litre, currently running about 70 % oil 30% derv and not a problem in fact its running better now than ever and more responsive.

No, probably didn't explain myself. When you take out the indicator lens there are 2 bulbs 1 is the indicator and then there is another 1 that looks like a side light bulb. Why would you put a side light in the indicator???

Greetings, cleaned the earth today and replaced the one to the body, lights and indicators are now working perfect, thanks for the advice it is appreciated just 1 more question why is there side light bulbs in the indicators???????????????

Called to a garage in Leeds who claim to specialize in auto transmission and quoted between £800 and £1000 to replace a sticky valve for my disco 2.5 tdi. told them not to bother could buy another gearbox in fact could buy another disco for that, total rip-off.

Thanks, changed the ATF today and the old stuff that came out was very dark red in fact nearly brown and did smell of burn nothing like the new fluid i put in. I'm delighted to say that seems to have done the trick drives totally different now, thanks again for the advice. think it might be...

Thanks for the advice. sorry for the delay just got in from work. I will try that first bringing the fluid level back to normal, would it be better to change the trans fluid altogether????

Thanks for the input sorry I didn't give more info as you can probably guess i'm new and not as quick or geared up as you lot lol, It's a 300 tdi auto 94, Checked the fluid level and it's been changed recently (not by me) its probably over full if owt.

Wonder if anyone can help I just bought a old 94 disco and it seems slow to change gear you have to rev the b***s off it b4 it changes, ourkid said that they all might be the same, unlikley any advise would be appreciated many thanks
