but its not happening all the time, do you think because of the extreme temps it could be to thick for the lift pump to pull through?

hi i have a disco 300tdi, she runs good must of the time and i have treat her to a new clutch. a couple of days ago i did about 1 mile (btw it was -5) and it cut out on me i went to start it and it was ideling bad, would not rev past 2500 revs and kept cutting out there was also lots of smoke...
