Thanks for that... I'm not going to replaces the seals myself... I'll keep an eye on the oil level... if it gets bad I'll book it in somewhere.

I've just changed the axle and transfer box oils... (Gearbox oil is next week) the axle's had no signs of any leaks, and aren't leaking after the change :), the transfer box, and the chassis support bar under it had a quantity of oil on it from an existing leak... I changed the oil and cleaned...

Haven't got instructions, but I've got those steps on mine... happy to take pics from underneath if that would help ?

Don't wanna highjack this thread... but if there is a problem with fitting steel wheels on with alloy nuts, then why did Landrover decide to put a steel spare on my 2003 D2 ? The ends of the alloy nuts are flat so can handle a steel perfectly well, its just the tapered bits don't disappear...

I had this problem on my TD5, it continually got worse and worse, in the end it would take upto 5 mins to get the key to turn. I didn't like the idea of spending loads of dosh on a genuine LR barell, but also didn't want to install a non genuine one because I'd also need to have the original key...

Looks like I will be picking up a small boat from Hampshire... (maybe tomorrow) So have capacity to tow anything from east anglia area down south, and can always bring something back if it will fit in the rear of Disco 2 with/without seats down ? Mike.

I had a similar problem on mine, I found that with mine the catch that it on the flap had bent out of position slightly so was only just locating in the plastic stay... just slightly bent the catch and hey presto... perfect fit now.

Think its fuse the 15Amp Fuse #25 in the passenger-compartment fuse box.

Not wanting to sound like a "Chump"... but I might :doh: ... I can't shift my transfer lever from the right to the left to engage Diff Lock either... it won't budge at all... someone told me that diff lock was removed on all models after a certain year, but I'm convinced mine should have diff...

I bought these....3x DOME 8 LED CAR INTERIOR BULB LAMP LIGHT 42mm WHITE on eBay (end time 10-Nov-10 15:11:03 GMT) for my D2 they really are too long, I just managed to wedge them in the holders though :-). They give off enough light, although IMO..could do with being a tad brighter still.

I use my TD5 Disco 2 for towing... horse box and also boats including launching.... The airbags are wonderful, obviously though they will be under more pressure when towing heavy loads so this will soon show up any weaknesses your SLS may have. As others have said replace both bags at the same...

As others have posted, stick it in "low" range and try again.

The heated mirrors also come on when the rear heated screen is activated.

Hi all, A few times recently my TD5 has refused to start, it doesn't even turn over, I wait for the glow plugs to extinguish, turn the key and.... nothing ! It has always eventually turned over and started after 5/6 attempts, recently however I had to call the AA as it completely refused to...

Same on mine - several places from the rear wiper. Mike.
