I read somewhere that a lot of earlier ( pre suffix F ?) transfer boxes had mods done to them by L/R to overcome the bad oil circulation to the mainshaft. L/R then daubed paint somewhere to show the box had the mod. Any ideas what the virtual respray of my transfer box means? Its a 95 300tdi...

Its been a while since I changed rear shock absorbers on a vehicle, last one was a Mitsu Pajero. I remember that the bottom shock mount bolts sheared off both sides and it cost me a fortune to replace them. Not with a Land Rover, surely? Wrong! but this time its the top mounting bolt...

Well, after a good few years away from LR after selling my old 200tdi Disco, I am just about to buy another, albeit a 300tdi. Trouble is, there doesnt seem to be many about in my price range in the SE ( 3K) and those that I have seen have been even worse than my old one! ( which was bad!)...

I was changing the rear shocks on my 93 Discovery a few days ago and noticed the rear diff was leaking a little. Ok, so its a Land Rover, thats its job! But, on closer inspection, it seems that the rear of the rear diff pan is rusting through and leaking, about level with the filler plug. Help...
