You mean it stopped leaking when it finally ran out of oil;)

I was just thinking about the Land Rovers that you've bought in the past, still got the oil slick on my drive to prove it. Take a look at the very tidy dark green 200tdi for sale for £1000 on the Anthill mob FB site. It won't stay unsold for long, definitely underselling it.

Not really, mine was bought as a toy, I've constantly upgraded it, doing everything properly as it either needed it or I wanted it, if it's off the road while things are being done it doesn't matter. Yours was bought as a daily driver, there's a big difference.

Jeez, is there anything on this Disco you've bought that actually works?

Chevy 454 rebuild with 8v71 blower

Trouble with running a blower with carbs is that you get a wet charge by the time it reaches the engine not the lovely fine mist that the carb delivers. In my opinion blowers only really work with injected motors. A blown big block in a Series will scare you stupid, with only an 88" wheelbase...

    The 2.5 n/a

I'm selling my N/A, it was fully rebuilt 2 years ago, done 1,500 miles since, had new £900 injector pump set up professionally, downside cambelt let go at 15mph 1/2 mile from home, no nasty noises just died. I'd accept an offer on it as is. I'm going V8 with mine, tdi is very expensive to do...

    X-eng disc brake

My Series does exactly that, going to fit new seal between main and transfer box when engine comes out to fit V8

    X-eng disc brake

Time to replace output seal on transfer box I think. Getting plate off is the hardest bit, rest of the fitting is easy. They work brilliantly, even when caked in mud, far better than original drum

Ryder it's not probably right, I know I'm right, mine I break it gets fixed to be broken another day whereby it gets fixed again. Your way by comparison is several broken Landys all over the place none of which will ever be on the road again, to keep buying barely serviceable motors is a very...

Ryder I learnt my lesson, you can't spread your resources too thinly, that's why I sold my Series 1 at an almost 500% profit I might add! but it funded the wheels, tyres and winch on the Series 3. You can't have your money tied up in motors that you have no possibility of ever getting back in...

The new one is in Norfolk or the old one? The guys in Sundon Park sell starters pretty cheap, probably cheaper the buy a recon one from them than the fuel you'd do going to Norfolk and back.

Certainly not, profile will stay the same.

Bought V8 just now, only 8,000 miles on clock out of a 6x6 fire engine, has has hi-compression heads fitted, included in the deal gearbox and oil pump adaptor plates and engine mounts, whole lot £ 420 plus delivery. Sounds like good deal to me, plus where do you find a V8 with only 8,000...

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. What I'm looking for is a complete hopefully unmolested engine.

    V8 in to a series

I've been going to the Pod since the 70's, I remember Andy Robinson when he started in street class. The Scandies were the first guys to bring Pro-Mod to the UK, it was a revelation, massive big block door slammers, ultra competitive close racing. I remember seeing Slammin Sammy Miller in...

Agreed, 200Tdi's are now old cars, anything under a grand is normally broken for primarily the engine. Better looking for a 300Tdi now if you want one as a complete car to use. Ryder, Spend less than a grand you're just buying another short term stopgap that'll let you down, cost you money...

    Ground anchors?

Looks a bit light duty to me, only a 9" x 9" blade and the rest of it looks a bit lightweight to me too. I've got a Devon 4x4 one with a detachable blade, it's big heavy and indestructible, never let go and easy to get out of the ground afterwards. If you want something smaller and a bit...

Nice! Nothing to beat the sound of a blown big block, apart from maybe a blown Hemi Are you fitting an extra fuel tank too?
