Electric seat button not attached anymore

Mine, for no obvious reason popped out over the winter. I glued mine back in with two part stuff. Sorted it right out.

    Power Steering Pulley

The shaft on mine went adrift, the boss (thanks for the word) was sound. Can't see any markings on it that hint to the manufacturer though.

    Power Steering Pulley

I feel my chin itching. Either that or the new pump was faulty. The part the pulley bolts go in to is a fairly robust bit. The one on my new one is a hefty lump of steel, the old one was super hard plastic.

£400! I paid 60 for a pump, 7 for a belt and the mechanic at my local charged me £50 to fit the new pump when I threw in the towel.

Did you get her going, Nav?

Sounds silly, but give the wheel a wiggle while trying, could be the steering lock. Mine was a real bitch on my last car if I pulled the key out and the wheel was at a particular angle.

So had to stay home this weekend. Angry children. I spent 2 hours trying to get the pulley bolts off and gave up. I just hope my serp belt holds on the drive to the garage next week.

    Discovery getting chipped Monday

I read that ecu mods were being made illegal under the new regs.

Removing SRS / airbags, assuming it's stuffed..

Both, which is a shame, I think the big grab rail looks way cooler.

Removing SRS / airbags, assuming it's stuffed..

I might rip mine out then. Not sure if it works, I've never seen the light on so I guess it's knackered.

Isn't that a new MOT no no? Or is that just England and Wales.

Removing SRS / airbags, assuming it's stuffed..

I could be wrong, and I am happy for some pods taking if I am, but don't the new MOT regulations say, if it was factory fitted, it has to be present and working? I'll be off to get my tin hat now.

    Power Steering Pulley

Ok, so I've ordered a new pump. I'm gonna brave this job myself as it sounds fairly easy, but are there any obvious things I can mess up/avoid/ways to make it easier? As I have to do it at night, would there be any harm in removing it now and putting the new one on when it arrives? I have no...

Scratch that. Pulley has moved back out of line. Looks like a new pump unless anyone can suggest anything else to check first?

    Cambelt Change

I know you are a little far away from Coventry, but I just paid £150.00 to have mine done, which was about £150 less than anyone else quoted me. Oh and a tender to replace the air con and aux belts.

    Power Steering Pulley

Fixed it by by releasing the tension on the belt and pushing the pulley back with a pry bar. It seems ok, I haven't driven it but let it run for a while with no problems. A little happier now. The mechanic who had it for the cam belt change said there is in and out motion on the pulley anyway...

    Power Steering Pulley

There are some really helpful people here. Thanks guys. I am of the generation where I've been bought up to be afraid of getting oil on my hands and I have to use a dictionary to find out what things like escutcheon mean (really, I did). It's kind of crazy, my dad worked for Jag and Land Rover...

    Dashboard light

Had the same fear when I first got mine...felt like a tool worrying after I found out why it happened. In the book it says that it comes onto let you know it works and if you are towing it stays lit all the time.

    Power Steering Pulley

Ok so I've got a big drive, but not great working limbs. I didn't realise it could be done from above, I just have nightmares about draining things and bleeding stuff. Don't suppose the is a good thread for idiots on how to replace them?

    Power Steering Pulley

It's just the pas pulley, everything else is perfect. I've searched a bit harder and it looks like I might be in for a new pump, but I'd like not to have to because I wouldn't have a clue how to do it, have the time or space. The usual.
