    Defender performance issues

Thanks for weighing in 300bhp/ton To attempt to answer some of the points/questions you raise: The IP was tuned/adjusted by Alldrive near Swadlincote. I believe that they simply followed the instructions that came with the intercooler from Allisport. I don't think it is a particularly...

I would have thought so. That's a work/not work arrangement rather than a lack of performance issue isn't it?

    Defender performance issues

Before I get going I accept that a Defender is never going to be a fast vehicle but I think I have some problem or problems and would welcome some advice on where to look. Some background; it's a 110 station wagon on 1996 vintage with 181,000 miles on the clock. I have owned it for 8 years...

Suspension replacement, I'm lost in the maze

I have looked on here, of course. As my wife will attest my 'looking eyes' are not the best. Apologies if this post is another repeat. I'll go for another trawl now.

Suspension replacement, I'm lost in the maze

Dear all, My 110 county has covered 172,000 miles, the last 22,000 in my ownership. When on holiday last year, fully loaded with family and camping gear it wallowed horribly in corners and when on the Eurostar in a line with other similar vehicles it bounced and wobbled on its suspension like a...

Rotten doors your time has come

I think it was Rioja red. However, I did buy it from a dealer in Leicestershire (who will remain nameless) and that is what he told me having just applied the paint job himself. This was 2006. Over the next few months of ownership I discovered a fair few other things with the Landy that...

    Intercooler help

I think others have used petrol. Take obvious precaustions if doing so though. Good sluice round should shift it.

Rotten doors your time has come

Wack, I admired your home paint job while I was waiting for mine to be done and started to ask myself if I should have simply done it myself. I do think my results would hold a candle to yours so I'm glad I had a paint shop involved. But did they have problems! Originally I wanted the landy...

Rotten doors your time has come

I've already sawn down the mounting part of the offside guard. I just need to get it welded up in its new shorter form and I'll be done. What I need is a swingaway wheel carrier that doesn't foul the light guard. The 265/75 I had on the back door messed it up within a week.

Rotten doors your time has come

I know this is a very late follow up to the original thread but here are pictures of the finished article. Colour is some kind of Jaguar black metallic. Cost to supply and fit doors, dismantle, respray, replace rear quarter panels, fix holes in body behind fuel filler and one of the B-pillars...

Lock stops - this can't be right, can it?

Thank you both for your replies. It did occur to me (after my post) that teh spacer would probably just restore the offset that the modular had - or thereabouts. So, onwards to fleabay to scour the marketplace. It seems £150 is about the going rate for a set. Does anyone have any...

Lock stops - this can't be right, can it?

I've recently got my 110 back from a comprehensive tarting-up operation (pics to follow in thread called Rotten doors - your time has come). As part of this process I decided to replace the wheels with LR boost alloys in black. Before this my 110 had silver modular wheels with 265/75s on. So...

Does your Landy have a name?

Oh yes. When I was describing the 'extras' on my 100" to a former-landy owning mate as we were walking to take a look at it for the first time his words were 'So are you going to Barry it up a bit?' Once he saw it with its huge tyres and stainless bumper, A-bar and side steps he added 'no...

Defender wanted for wedding day.... does anyone want to earn some extra cash????:)

Did you get a car sorted? If not then when is the date? I may be able to help and being just south of Nottingham I'm probably not too far away. My 110 is in the garage now having a full respray and new wheels (black not white) and progress on the vehicle can be found in the thread called...

    carpetting the cab WRITE UP

Eee, that's proper luxury is that. Looks plush though I'm not sure I'd want to put my muddy boots on it or even my kids. Nice job though. I might do just the seatbox and leave the floor covered in rubber.

    carpetting the cab WRITE UP

Looking forward to seeing the results. I've never had the pleasure of being in a Landy with carpet in it. In fact until recently I thought that it was standard to have the seat box showing in painted metal (this is CSW spec I'm talking about). Anyway, yes, pictures please.
