clutch felt ok right up till it went bang. mechanic going to check it out tomorrow and see what it needs. if it's the whole clutch a box of matches might be the best option!! thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

I used to have a discovery but the bloody thing cost me a fortune. It was forever breaking down. I know freelanders have a reputation for being unreliable but mine has given me very little bother over the last 5 years. I'd like a TD5 but the thought of massive repair bills scares me!

I've hardly made any posts and most of these have been questions about a broken down freelander. I've had helpful answers to all my qusetions within very short time (as well as some abuse for having a freelander). A clique of tossers? Not in my (limited) experience of this forum.

Thanks for that. The cylinder certainly doesn't look very strong. I was just worried that there was something more serious which had caused the problem. Maybe I should give up with cars and get me a horse!

The electric wimdow on my Freelander is making strange noises and sticking. I've been told it's the cable which is at fault. I've seen cable kits for sale which are much cheaper than buying a whole new motor from landrover. Anyone had experience of the replacement cable? Are they any good and...
