    Who turned out the lights

After looking at a few more posts on here I'm thinking people will be shouting "check the fekin 30A fuse in the engine bay"...

    Who turned out the lights

update: It wasn't the earth strap. I didn't have time to get to the root of the problem so had an auto sparky in. Can't say I'm impressed. All he really did, after much unnecessary stripping down was prove that there was no power to the switch. Can anyone tell me why the switch +ve would...

    Who turned out the lights

Update: So as expected, by I think everyone, putting a new switch in did bugger all. I have found a new interesting feature: With the light switch on dipped if I hold the main beam on flash... I can blow both the dipped fuses... As it's a 300tdi defender commercial from '98 just as the wiring...

    Who turned out the lights

Cheers guys, much appreciated. As much as I love chasing wiring problems I'm heading straight for a new switch and hoping for an easy weekend. (DVM on charge just in case...)

    rear seats

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone has fitted any rear facing bench seats to the back of a defender 110 (utility in my case). Not side facing!! I can find plenty of double bench seats removed from van conversions that would do the job but most have leg designs that are too much to modify. I'd...

Stuck in France towing boat. Awful chunking from underneath!

Ask for a tow back rather than repairs if you think you're being ripped off. I broke down coming back from skiing and AA were brilliant. Got the vehicle towed back from near Lyon, flights for me and Mrs and taxi onward to home. That was after a new set of dics on the way down as they'd warped...

There was a promotional picture recently with a couple of sheep in the back. Neither of them were dead though.

    rear cross member

How my cross member with extensions went on (110). Took a bit of trimming when in place and welded along the corner folds too.

    300tdi cruising speed ?

I have a transfer box from Ashcroft with the 1.22 output gear in my 110, I can cruise nicely at 65 easily. To be honest it's a bit too high geared at low speed though. I'm temped to go back to base and get a roamer drive. I'd want to see what the 1.3 was like before going that route again...

High lift jack dangers, and how to use properly.

I found this quite interesting: A high lift will do anything a winch/tirfor/bottle/trolley jack can do but won't be easier, safer or quicker... if you can get it to fit!
