I had the exact same symptoms as you describe. Turned out to be the wiring connector block on the top of the fuel pump. Corroded over the years, and began to randomly fail. Cleaned, squirt of WD40, job done. Hope this helps, Russ

Hi all, anyone know where I can get hold of the black plastic snap fixings...the ones that secure the wiper mechanism cover below the windscreen. Also need the two rubber things at the end of the cover next to the bonnet hinges! Hope thats not too vague!! Cheers Russ

You should get the 2 side windows, 2 side finishing trims, 2 rear brackets, and a red key. You should also get 2 self locking pins. The side finishing trims are important, without them the wind noise is quite loud. The rear brackets mount either side of the rear door (lock in with red key)...

Hi, had exact same symtoms on my 1.8 petrol. Advice on this forum was to check the fuel pump, located in the top of the tank, under a plate in the rear floor. Checked the connector block, and 2 of the terminals were green with corrosion. WD40, wire brush...no problem since! Hope this helps, Russ

I get 30 mpg, 30 mile commute through Devon's finest rural lanes. Would suggest getting it serviced, as it should be better than that. My previous cars have been MGZS, MGF, and MGTF, all have same engine, and all returned around 30 - 34 MPG. Cheers Russ

Hi, i replaced my VCU with a Bell Eng recon one. (Its a direct replacement for the original) Still feels horrible when reversing on full lock, like something is gonna explode!!! But after 12 months its still all fine, 4wd works perfectly, no knocks or rattles etc. Cheers Russ

Hi all, I am going to replace the hideous plastic throttle body on my 1.8, with an alloy one. Can anyone advise me on this please? Was hoping that a 52mm from an MG motor would be a direct replacement, same cable, TPS etc etc? Thanks in advance, Russ
