    Checked it all before we left, Charge guage now reading back to normal levels and when running above idle at about 1000 - 1200 rpm voltage up at 13.6V. Still a worry why guage level dropped so low while running.

    Checked with multimeter, got 12v before starting and at idle got 12.6v. Engine starts fine, hopefully it is just the guage that is reading incorrectly. couldnt check above idle as no one around to increase revs while checking with multimeter.

    Was very tight with plastic sleeve, when did get it apart the sleeve remained in the female end with just a few bits stuck on the end of the male end.     Griffdowg, I have seen the NRC 7040 items around but in the parts catalogue it doesnt refer to that number, nor on any on the usual parts websites does it offer a superceded number, I just dont want to buy the thing then find out a number of snags trying to get the thing fitted.
