Ok. Just an update. Today the diagnostics showed up the maf which was obviously an old fault as when cleared and reset it didn't show up again. So me and my brother stripped the polonium chamber off, coil pack and leads and all air hoses. Cleaned everything down, checked for splits in hoses and...

Just an update. Tried everything suggested so far (except diag which is booked for Saturday) and still the same. Rangie will sit and rev lovely on the drive but when put into drive or reverse power is lost and no feeling through the accelerator. Any more guesses people???

Can anyone list the symptoms of a faulty crank shaft position sensor?

Had new plugs and leads 2 weeks ago and all sparking well.

Well. I have today gone over the whole air intake system and can find no leaks. The car will rev up lovely on the drive but as soon as I try to drive it starts with the popping and lack of power. Any more ideas?

I am not too good with engines. How could I check this or how could it have been knocked out in the first place? Thanks for your reply.

Hi. My rangie on idle runs very slow and lumpy. I initally thought this was the MAF, but after installing the new one still no change. When you put your foot down to accelerate the car coughs and splutters and struggles to keep moving. Any sugggestions anyone?

So, this morning, new maf in hand I confidently fitted and started the rangie. But..... Bad news. Popping and lack of will to do anything still present. Checked for air leaks and everything seems good. Any ideas anyone?

I took my becm to a guy near derby who, for £70, unlocked it and allowed it to restart. He also found out the eka I was given was incorrect. Check out eBay item number 200776126287 for the guys number. His name is doug. Very helpful and very knowledgeable.
