    P38A Non starting diesel

Okay, becm and engine ecu back from Rick the Pick. The good news is, success, problem resolved. Just need to sort out passenger front door lock, motor u/s and all good. I would just like to say thank you to everyone who chipped in to help, especially Datatek, Wammers and Grrrrrr. Your help was...

    P38A Non starting diesel

Okay, update. Run out of options, entering the E K A code has been fruitless. Pretty sure becm is in alarmed state, so it's now on the way with the engine ecu and key fob to Rick the Pick. :)

    P38A Non starting diesel

Just had my eka confirmed by my local dealer. If my switch bypass set up fails tomorrow, then I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and send the ecu off to be sorted out.

    P38A Non starting diesel

Going to eliminate the door latch tomorrow. I've knocked up a separate switch system to connect to the door lock loom to try the eka. If that doesn't work, I will assume the becm is in lock out mode :(

The drivers door locks and unlocks with the key but the other doors only lock, they don't unlock. the alarm led at the windscreen stays flashing. The dash " lights on" lamp registers lock and unlock.

    P38A Non starting diesel

Okay , update. Stop solenoid checks out ok and there is a crank angle pulse to the ecu on my scope. Superchips were unable to confirm if they bypassed the immobiliser or not. Yes I have Rave I'm going to attack this from another angle. I'm going to assume the immobiliser has not been bypassed...

    P38A Non starting diesel

Going to check the stop solenoid and scope the crank angle sensor tomorrow. Also contact Super chips to see if their chip bypasses the immobiliser

    P38A Non starting diesel

Good point Datatek, I will scope the crank sensor to begin with. Will take be a little longer to check fip and cam timing, Trouble is the vehicle is at my storage place 6 miles from home so checking things out becomes a little drawn out. I do appreciate all the replies and suggestions, thanks to...

No the chip is not piggy backed, it's a replacement chip. Its true they may have the fip and cam timing wrong yet, but would that stop the fip pumping diesel to the injectors, albeit at the wrong time.

That's true, but it looks official. I've opened up the ecu, and it has been chipped by superchips. The car originally went to a garage to have a head gasket done and it's not run since.

That's the strange thing. My edc has a label on staying immobiliser bypassed but no diesel at injectors. Will check stop solenoid next time I get to play with it

    P38A Non starting diesel

Hi all, I'm trying to run a 1996 manual p38 diesel as a stand-alone engine. There is a label attached to the ecu to say it has the immobiliser bypassed. There is power to the solenoid, and diesel to the fip, but no diesel from the injector pipes while cranking. I'm running the original in tank...
