    Having problems with my original temp gauge so installed a durite electric gauge in the end, 2 gauges later and it’s playing up jumping up to 50 soon as ignition is turned on so now I don’t trust the gauge. going to give in a go with a different brand, so what is everyone using?

    This discovery was EDC original but before I bought it someone had converted to normal pump. I have noticed it has no kickdown cable etc so I do wonder if that has anything to do with it! I guess I’ll just live with it for now she only for off roading!

    I recorded my 0-60 speeds so I had a reference to go off, fitted lift pump and it seemed faster than before the lift pump, so was chuffed and thought it solved it, until I referred back to my recorded times and realised it was no better haha.     Old thread I know, but can anyone tell me how on earth the durite mechanical temp gauge fits the 300tdi? The durite sender doesn’t even fit in the hole of the thermostat housing on the engine???

    The only strange thing I've noticed is that fuel filter is only 3/4 full, no flow at feed pipe of injection pump but the engine doesn't seem to be being starved of fuel so I just ignored this.     Not checked boost pressure at pump, but must be boost pressure at manifold as pipe swells when revving the engine. Not checked the timing as of yet, not got the correct pins at the moment and never really thought to check timing as the engine runs sweet apart from this strange power problem
