    Alpine windows

I've got three Defenders and like J said, "why not". The Defender I'm doing it to has had everything upgraded from a galv chassis, to a full leather interior. A 300 TDi beaut, and the tropical windows are the final detail.

    Alpine windows

Has anyone cut land rover roof to take alpine windows? If yes, is it best to use a small disc cutter, or a jigsaw?

    Defender Door lock

Well, just to thank all who replied, as enlarging the door pillar slots to allow the latch / slam plate to be closer to the door worked. I gradually ground the slots using edge grinding drills until the second click of the lock could be heard and the door still shut to its normal position. I...

    Defender Door lock

Yes, I tried that the weekend and it still opens when locked, so the holes for the latch plate will be extended slightly to get the two clicks from the lock, Thanks for that reply

    Defender Door lock

Images aren't great, but I do not believe anything I've mentioned is causing it. I got a steel rod and pushed the lock inward until it reached full lock click, then I measured from the rod to the outside of the door, then checked the latch position to the body and honestly do not believe the...

    Defender Door lock

Hi there, that sounds just like my problem. I've just taken off the door trim and taken a good look, but don't think my window glass conversion is at fault. Even so, I noted three things. 1. The latch that you push down to lock the door internally was not clipped in correctly, so it was...

    Defender Door lock

I've check a few descriptions on fleabay and they state glue, so I have a chance unless I break the glass. Thanks for advice.

Were the plastic blocks just glued?

    Defender Door lock

Thanks Tottot, I wasn't sure about the link rods and I may have made things worse because when I rebuilt the Defender I could only obtain door windows for the passenger door and the plastic connection blocks at the bottom of the window winder mechanism are on the wrong side. I think the 10mm...

    Defender Door lock

Hi, need your help with my Defender 90 because I've tried everything to stop my drivers door from opening to the anti burst position. The door is in excellent condition and does not move on its hinges. What I've noticed is that the TD5 door trim pushes against the seat base side, but surely that...

Battery cable clamp to kill switch

Yep, I'm confident, just have a cricked neck at the moment and don't want to get under the landie. This is my tenth Landie and have built three myself. This one included. Nut and bolt resto. Where electric's are concerned, I like to do as the experts advise,

Battery cable clamp to kill switch

The image is of the kill switch. Sorry about the size' Would a bracket or plate in which the battery clamp bolt could be clamped to the plate and the other end connects to the switch be feasible, or could that be unsafe?

Battery cable clamp to kill switch

Thanks Lynall, I thought of that, but those ring terminals can be difficult to crimp I believe. If I have no other option, I guess I could try or buy a new cable with rings already on. I would need a crimp tool for heavy cable crimps, or does anyone know the length and sectional thickness of the...

Battery cable clamp to kill switch

Hi, can anyone advise the best way to connect the positive cable clamp (battery connector clamp) to a kill switch with 8 or 10mm threads? The cable clamp won't fit over the kill switch connectors, so need some kind of ring connector. Any ideas would be grateful. Mines a 300 tdi 90.
