    Discovery 2 Disco 2 X reg. SOLD

Unfortunately I'm going to have to part with my truck. Partners shift patterns have changed and childcare costs for the little 'un have gone through the roof. Hence I'm not going to have the cash any more to do the work I have planned on it or run it like it deserves. Rather it went on to...

    Water down your snorkel...

Might be a proper noob question, but I passed a disco today in the torrential rain and thunder we had with a snorkel with the air ram bit facing forwards. Looking at the rain slamming on my windscreen as I was driving along... Got me thinking... what’s to stop rain being rammed down there as...

    Can’t find the blimmin part!

Hopefully one of you learned individuals can guide me lol. Looking for the little rubber o ring that goes over the abs sensor to seal it in, front, td5 disco 2. Mr Haynes says to replace when you’ve had the sensor out. There wasn’t one in there to begin with! I may be searching for the...

Front hub splines, to seal or not to seal...

So, front oil seals are getting there, one seems sorted after removing the seized hub nut horror thanks to @beanwood . Mr Haynes says to put locking sealant, akin to locktite 648 on the rear hub splines. Does this apply to the front too? Is this worth doing? Just out of curiosity, what does it...

Seized hub nut - heat it?

Trying to do the drive shaft oil seals on my disco two, as always it’s a mission! Hub nut won’t budge, it doesn’t look like it has been staked by whoever put it on so I don’t think it’s that. Breaker, jack under breaker, hitting socket with a mallet, running out of options. If I get the torch...

    Removing td5 tensioner.

Belt and fan off, happy days! About to remove the knackered old tensioner unit. Is it really just one bolt in the middle of the housing??? This seems pretty simple to me so I’m worried lol! Also is it normal thread, I.e lefty loosey?

It’s not the day for it...

Service kit, belts, tools, oils and gear laid out I had big plans today for the disco... And so... sump plug seized to buggery, viscous fan bolt the same... any hints I’m open to advice as really today I only changed the air filter, lubed the hinges and topped up the oil, after jacking her up...

    Fun whilst it lasted...

Sad day yesterday, my tame mechanic got back to me about my disco 1 van after giving her a through look over before I started working on her for the mot. Alas, I think she is a goner, the list of jobs was large, not impossible for me to do, but the chassis is gonna need at least 500 quids worth...

    Hi from the shire.

Hi, new to the forum and actually owning my own Landy. Disco 1 van, bit of a project currently. I’m just off Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. Hope to see a few of you knocking around on the range path up there when the truck is ready!
