I had the same problem - nosy pump - difficult to start. Injector washers knackered - oil doesn't increase (as above). Use genuine washers otherwise you'll be doing it again in 12 months. Other place air can get in is the filter housing.

Right, so over Christmas/New year I have fitted two pumps. Neither seem to work (just cranks over) - but as soon as I fit the old pump it fires up. Is there a procedure I'm missing ? I pump the accelerator and let it self prime a few times - anything else ?

Update. Changed fuel filter. Still the same gurgling/whining noise, although it hasn't not started yet! I did think about injector seals, but the oil level is spot on which would suggest these are ok ?

Got a bosch filter on order, should turn up Tuesday. Going to pull the pump as well and give it a clean and go from there. Thanks for all the replies - will update thread next weekend. Cheers. Oh....wouldn't start after a 30 min drive this morning o_O so not a one off!

Sounds like the green fuel pipe has sprung a leak (part YNI500030K). I managed to get behind the fuel tank and unclip mine. Absolute pain in the rear to do - but easier than dropping a rusty fuel tank full of fuel! As the others have said you will need to rip the boot apart as well!

Be careful what you send them - they can easily take money from your account if you've sent them bank details. Keep an eye on your account. The only legal way (if a refund is not forthcoming) is to take him to small claims - of course he probably won't pay in which case you'll need a high court...

Is the bang when you brake ? Had the same problem with my Audi - turned out to be the front brake pads which hadn't seated correctly. May be worth checking that off the list first. Another is the drop links can loosen and clunk.

Drilled / slotted / dimpled ? I wouldn't bother on a 4x4 - especially if you off road. You will end up with crap in the slots which will destroy the disc. We run solid discs on our track car - they last far longer and don't warp and crack like the drilled and slotted discs do. I run dimpled...

I have the same problem, some bastard rolled back and drove off! The plastic area around the number plate is damaged and the mountings on the drivers side are destroyed. I was hoping the centre piece was separate, but it isn't. As Brian says, new bumper - they aren't cheap!

First thing I would do is pull the green high pressure line and see if that's the one - 99% of the time it is. Only £42 from land rover. Did mine last week - fairly simple once you know the pipe routing. Green HP line leaks when the pump is on.

Sounds ok to me - maybe a little rough but that could be the camera mic. Your old filter may not have been working!
