Sorry, I know this string has been dead for a while, but I just realized I never posted an update. The problem was the camshaft position sensor. Swapped it out, and everything is perfect again. Thanks all, for the help. Much obliged!

Can you replace the fuel pump in these Td4's without draining and dropping the tank? Is there access from the top? Or do I have to remove the tank?

I drive mostly old cars, where it's easy to hear the pump. I'm guessing this one is inside the tank, because to be honest I don't feel like I can EVER hear the fuel pump during KOEO. Hahaha! I'll try. Maybe have my wife turn the key on while I stick my head underneath the tank.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not going crazy, because I looked and couldn't see anything on the back of the plenum that looked like what I picture an idle air control looking like. I'll keep testing and post when I know whether it seems to be fixed or not.
