    Master cylinder woes

Allright guys! Thanks for all the replies :-) I disassembled the brakes to find that I've somehow managed to put the 1" wheel cylinders up front and the 1 1/4" at the rear - stupid mistake... On top of that, the brake shoes and the drums weren't mated properly so the contact point were...

    Master cylinder woes

Right now it's plumbed front to rear and vice versa. I've tried swapping to front-front but made little to no difference.

But is it possible to mount the brake shoes wrong? It's really thoroughly bled; both front and rear.

    Master cylinder woes

It's properly bled with pressure fed through the reservoir. And the front drums are adjusted to sticktion and then back a nodge. But maybe I've bodged the leading/trailing shoe thingy... Do you know of proper guide for checking that - front and rear?

    Master cylinder woes

Allright guys. 1974 swb barn find (well actually it was in the field) have been sitting stationary for 20 years or so. I'm now doing it up, and is trying to sort the brakes at the moment. BUT the bloody thing over brakes hugely on the rear, I can't even block the front wheels on a muddy grass...

    Which rims are these.

Hi guys, I've got some deep dish 6.5" inch series rims but I can't figure out quite what they are. If I go by this article: http://ollr.createaforum.com/technical-archive/buyers-guide-to-super-hereto-deep-dish-forward-control-one-ton-130-rims/ they are probably 2A Forward Control rims with a...

    Defender heater matrix

And how much heat does an engine waste? Roughly 70% (in a modern engine!) are lost as heat. An example: if you need 30kw (or 40hp) at the wheels to drive the car in to the wind you actually need to produce around a 100kw of energy. Of the 70kw lost as heat about 1/3 or 23kw, is going the through...

    Defender heater matrix

Don't got any data but my guess is that it's plenty powerful. Think about how much more water that pump moves around than your average domestic circulator. :flame: I think there's flow to heat a house if you want. Who's first to try it out??

    Defender heater matrix

It would be interesting to know the temperature difference between inlet and outlet at max temperature and full tilt on the blower. If the temp difference is large (10-30 deg C) you could probably benefit from running them parallel and it would also indicate that the water pump isn't up for the...

    Defender heater matrix

I'm talking coolant here ;-) Liquids flow through tubing is not that different than electrics :-)

    Defender heater matrix

It's not a bad idea running the ducting past the engine and make a shroud that fits on the radiator thus preheating the air. But, you need to be damn sure that it wont draw any toxic fumes from the engine bay. And it will still be hot in the summer!!

    Defender heater matrix

I don't know if flow through the heater is an issue. BUT, running them parallel will theoretically reduce the resistance by half, where as running them in series will double the resistance.

    Defender heater matrix

Yeah I saw that link too, but that's everything (including blower) he's transplanting. I just wanna know about this part: UTP1725 | Heater Matrix - horizontal inlet and outlet pipes pipes will fit and be an improvement? :-)

    Defender heater matrix

Hi guys! Have tried the search option but alas no luck. Therefore; will a defender heater matrix fit inside the series 3 heater housing? And will it be any better than series 3 stock? Br Niels
