    They've been over filled by whoever had it last so it's well above the max line. Obviously I'm not going to empty all the brake fluid out.

    Just done a quick search is it as easy as popping the rubber cap off the master cylinder reservoir and topping up? Also bit dodgy but I've not brake/ clutch fluid in the house would I be ok nicking a bit out of the brake reservoir for the time being or is that a no no? I just need it to last me...

    From what I've read you can't bleed them can you? Or have I just read it wrong. Just been out the clutch is now non existent, press it in and it stays at the floor, followed it through the bulk head and there's some blue tape looking stuff half way through the line below the windscreen then...

    Is it the same basic principle on a td4 though? Disconnect the master cylinder from the slave, I clip from the clutch pedal, turn 45 degrees then stick the new one in?

Lol I'm not sure if it has a fuel burning heater fitted I will check tomorrow when its light, by egr filter I meant the thing in the pic below, it has some black pipe...

    hi all, sorry to ask for help on my first post but recently got myself a td4 Freelander, just been to my mums round the corner and when I switched the engine off there was an electrical sounding noise coming from the passenger side engine bay a bit like a fan noise along with some steam or smoke...
