Thanks guys, I'd heard about green stuffs before but wasn't sure. Looks like I'll give them a go. Let you know how I get on.

    Defender brakes

Hi all, I've got a defender 110 TD5 ex utility company that I use for work. With all my gear in it, it weighs just over 2.5 ton. I want to replace the brake pads as they are getting worn down. What pads would you suggest I use to maybe upgrade the performance a bit? The discs are ok and don't...

    hydraulic log splitter

Hi all, I have an ex utility company 110 td5 with a hydraulic winch on the front bumper. Has anyone heard of running a log splitter of the hydraulic system on one of these? I have approx 16 tonnes of wood to split and not looking forward to doing it with an axe! Any input much appreciated.

    Clunk on defender pulling away

I will check the a frame balljoint. However I'm concerned too about the amount of travel when trying to turn the wheel. Surely at least three inches is too much?

    Clunk on defender pulling away

I've been concerned for a while about a clunk that happens when you pull away or change gear on my td5 110 county. I've just jacked up one side and with handbrake on tried to turn the wheel. There must be at least three inches of play!!! Any ideas gratefully taken on board before something breaks.

    Td5 lack of pull

Wastegate ok, put molegrips on it and it moves easily enough. Is the MAP sensor the one in the inlet manifold? What so I look for when checking it?

    Td5 lack of pull

It's done 127k miles, MAF sensor changed, doesn't smoke, injector loom changed. I must admit I haven't had diagnostics on it but I would have thought the management light would have come on if a fault in there.

    Td5 lack of pull

Hi all, I've got a td5 defender hardtop, ex electricity board, that I use for work. It's a heavy beast at 2.8 ton with all my kit in it. It definitely lacks pull and I think it's down primarily to the weight. I've de cat it and taken centre box off, improvement. I'm running 285 75 16 ATs on it...

    opinions on waxoyl treatment?

I've got a 110 hardtop and did underseal and waxoyled myself. Got proper wet and messy jet washing off, left it to dry. Bought undersea land gun off eBay, used empty under seal can to put waxoyl in. Can get waxoyl off eBay too. If you do it yourself at least you know what's been done. Won't cost...

    Td5 lost power

Sorry this took a while to post update, running around in decreasing circles and about to disappear somewhere nasty! Haven't tried the MAP señor yet but did check the turbo modulator arm again. Was definitely stiff so phoned local landie specialist to check if ok to lube. They suggested spraying...

    Td5 lost power

Hi all, yes I know this is one of the most asked threads, sorry for asking again. I have a 54 td5 fender 110. Recently it started to lose its grunt, gives up going up a hill. Changed MAF sensor, injector harness(slight bit of oil in red plug washed out with contact cleaner), checked wastegate...

    In the drink.

I find the easiest way to change the gearbox oil is to drop a length if clean hosepipe down from the top of the engine and it's a nice fit into the gearbox filler plug. All you need then is a small funnel fitted into the pipe and gently pour the oil in. Done mine a few tea like that with no...

    Td5 heater

Yes,it's got a webasto cab heater. It's an ex electricity defender 110. But that heater isn't connected to the matrix.

    Td5 heater

Cheers all. Will check tomorrow on rad temp right through. Then it looks like the hosepipe may be coming out.

    Td5 heater

Hi all, got a problem that's baffling me. Any advice most welcome. My td5 54 plate heats up really quickly and blows nice hot air out of the vents. Not the problem. My x reg td5 doesn't do what the other one does. It takes approx 15 miles before the temp gauge can be bothered to get its backside...

    Hi

I may have two fenders but a bit of a spaz when trying to get pics loaded on here. Any help would be very gratefully received and acted upon (as long as it's legal and not painful!!) Thanks

    Hi

To all those saying welcome, thank you. To those thinking I'm pretentious, you are so wrong! If I own two defenders then it shows I can let the smelly brown stuff slide when its thrown. Got broad shoulders and thick skin. Looking forward to getting to know you all better and vice versa.

    Hi

Hi all, registered as newbie few weeks ago. Got 50 views to my profile saying hello but no one saying welcome. Have I done something wrong?!! Or is everyone jealous cos I've got two td5 defenders!!

What have you done to your Landie today.

Just looked out the window and it's cold,-5 last night!! Going to give the defenders a scrape and warm up.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Managed to wire up two 8 inch spotlights. Not bad for someone who took 21 years to remember how to wire a 3 pin plug!
