Great, seems to be a shed load of advice on here, but I'm sure that like me, you probably stalked this forum before you bought! Almost too much info on here.

Run while you can
An Aussie living in England driving (and loving) a Defender instead of an infinitely more capable LandCruiser Amazon (like the rest of my compatriots do at home) runs from nothing, not even fixing all of the weird and wonderful problems I’ve already found. Favourite bit (after owning two full sized LandCruisers and a Discovery 4 and doing thousands of proper off-road, sand dune, beach, rutted roads, deep sand, deep mud, huge slippery mountain miles) is the fact that you look underneath, and you can see everything, you look under the bonnet and you can see everything, you try and replace something and it’s (relatively) cheap and comes with a like-minded group of people who actually care about these beautiful modern classics!!!! And people wave. Even my wife is besotted.
