Hi all ,new on here, just wondering is it possible to replace the fabric on freelander 1 phase 1 door card fabric and how or is it easier to template over and trim in.
I know the door cards have to come off.
Cheers

It might be easier and cheaper to buy used ones from a scrapped car.

Not easy. The fabric is glued into place, using a special press to tuck fabric into groves in the backing board, which also heats up and melts the foam under the fabric.

Your best bet is to do as Ali suggested, and replace them with better condition replacements.
;)

@Markysparky2014 - I found this on eBay for £18.85 posted.

Hi mate,do you know or anybody else know, can you upgrade headlight bulbs on freelander 1 to led or is it illegal, cheers mark

No LED conversion bulbs are not approved for use in the UK.
This doesn't stop people using them though.
The more expensive LED bulbs give the best beam pattern, which are less likely draw attention to them from the police, but they will normally fail the MOT.
It's a really grey area, as the motor vehicle regulations don't specifically say LEDs are illegal, simply because LEDs weren't really available when the law was written.

I'd use them, as long as the beam pattern was the same as a filament bulb, but the ones I've seen aren't even close.

Replacing the fabric on doors.
I'm doing mine at the moment on my 2004 facelift.
its not hard at all.
In fact its simple, in the end is just gluing a square.
Take the old one and grab one of those dish washer sponges and remove the old glue. Don't need to remove it all just the one its dry on top.
Then cut the square enough to go around the edges. Apply glue both sides, use help align remember to leave a peace so it can go inside de grove around it.
Cut in the desire length. And then just insert on the grove. I have used 3mm brown wire to push the fabric into the grove and it looks really cool. then cut where the handle and lock are and.... voila !!!!!
DONT forget use high temperature glue....

Thanks anubis757,that looks great,is the fabric you got leatherette as looks similar to what I've brought ebay, what high temp glue did you use, cheers

Well the spray is very precise out of the can ...but do you see the tape around is just to prevent go out of the desire place.
On the fabric you can spray over a table and then clean it once its dry.
As long two half's don't go together the glues gets out fairly easy
