Ah yes. We call those universal keys at work. You borrow someone else's when you've forgotten the key to the padlock of your toolbox! That's a problem i've never had because my padlock keys are on the same keyring as the car keys which means if...

When i was in high school, our technical drawing teacher, Mr (Steve) Williams decided as we'd been working hard that the following week we could bring a record or two in and we'd be allowed to play them on the bloody huge radiogram he'd got next...

Is this car of an age where you have to formally introduce a new injector to the car? If you fitted two new injectors or maybe removed them and didn't put them back in the same place as they came from, could that be the issue? I think this is the...

I went out this morning to replace the last couple of flexible brake pipes on the 101 but ended up removing the battery to place it on charge as it went flat after about five seconds of cranking. :(

I'm fluent in English and bollocks. My French was passable when i was 16 after just passing at CSE grade 1, but rarely used it in the 42 years since.

So, are you saying that if the vehicle is over 30 years old, which is how the French classify a classic vehicle to get a care grise véhicule de collection form, that you don't need to display a Crit’Air vignette (because you can't apply for one)...

With regards to driving in a French LEZ, what's that got to do with the price of Les onions? 🤔

Thanks. I'll look into the "Vehicule de Collection". Not sure what it has to do with the French LEZs though. From your link... Do I need a Crit’Air vignette? All eligible vehicles need to display a Crit’Air vignette on their windscreen to be...

Have you thought about using a roof tent? You could still put the kitchen 'downstairs' and have more living room 'upstairs'.

They have a badge to display for hybrids but i think the different badges are on a sliding scale of whether you are allowed in. As in a 'quite clean' badge might get you into a 'fairly low emission' zone but not a very clean one. The penalty is a...

They do accept certificates from Gaydon as being 100% genuine and correct. I'm sure if i used it they'd change the build date to suit. The only down side being that they'd issue an age related number but that would then be non transferable which...

I think it doesn't matter to the French what you put on your V5. They base what catagory your emissions are by what it was when you left the factory. If it's a 101 ambulance it's simply too old to drive into their LEZ zones. Bloody ageist if you...

Your V5 states what your emissions are. The French can check it online or from the manufacturer's records, i don't know which so basically you can't BS them. From what i gather, technically, you can't change your emissions 'class' by changing to...

OK peeps. Thanks for your thoughts. It seems it's a non starter. The idea behind it was to be able to drive in French LEZs. Unlike over here, if you have a 40 year plus vehicle you are LEZ exempt, in France, you can't drive in their LEZ unless...

I know the PTO on the back of the transfer box can be used to power various things, could it be used in reverse and if i bolted an electric motor onto it could that be used to propel the vehicle using batteries?
