I currently run a 2003 Audi A4 with around 195k on the clock. Second owner from new and touch wood nothing has failed on it, changed belt and water pump etc. Tempted to just keep running it as it cruises on motorways and excellent fuel economy...
I'm hankering after a landrover again but know I...

I sold my 2002 Disco ES TD5 some years ago and even though it seemed to have no end of niggling faults I have regretted it ever since. Had a Jag X-Type and Mazda RX8 since so slightly different driving experience.
Unfortunately my budget is now only around 5-6k, so whilst the last Disco I...

Yes I had the hot water syndrome. It was the air conditioning tubes which normally drain the condensation out of syste. had blocked with debris so ran back into footwell. Search my post if you like. Simple repair (although I didnt do it myself as wasnt sure it was that to begin with)

Just dont get an automatic box if you need to drive through congestion or even brisk A roads. Had mine chipped and she is stll heavy on fuel driving conservatively.
Wasnt too bad on motorway down to torquay from Swansea. Fully loaded only used quarter of a tank

Does anyone use or have used any of the car insurers that specialise in 4x4's etc?
Been on MoneySupermarket and the quotes on there as same as my renewal with Halifax so thought it may be checking with some of the 4x4 guys or are they simply gimmicks?

With regards No 3 I get this first thing in morning but doesnt normally last that long. I find revving it harder before dropping off the accelerator (where it would normally then drop in at 2000rpm solves this quicker than normal)

How do I take cover off completly. I am guessing there is a small electrical box connection holding it on at bottom near Gear 1? Think I need to get one of those CD roms showing how to pull stuff apart. Think something is holding it on near Sport Mode Button

I dont know whether I have moved something slightly when over zealously polishing the auto gear selector (although I doubt it) but in PARK and 1st the light comes on and then goes off and sometimes then PARK fails. Its obviously not clicking in correctly and sometimes only needs a slight wiggle...

Yeah windows down, painfully trying to hear the radio over the wind blast, watching maps fly out the windows at 70mph, kids losing an arm or two.....hair resembling a haystack.
I prefer comfort myself ;)

My drivers side front window regulator is broken and need to replace. I have been told that the aftermarket parts are pretty ****e and that although the Landrover part is obviously a known problem (!!) its better than the rest?
Seen some on eBay knocking about for £35ish....compared to around...

Just like to give a heads up to a fellow member (clutch dust) who firstly diagnosed a problem over the forum for me and carried out the works for peanuts compared to what a garage would have done for fault finding etc.
Good to see inexperienced Disco owners like myself being helped out by...
