In that case I'd take the oil cooler housing off again and check it for flatness as well as anything else it has attached to it and that it is attached to.

I know this is a very old thread, but I’ve been experiencing the exact same problem - a crack around the RH bolt of the oil filter housing, only I’ve now gone through a total of 3 filter housings in a just over a week (and lost a lot of oil)...

Never heard of them cracking when driving, I’ve broken a few getting seized oil filters off though where people have over tightened them. Where are you getting the replacement filter housings from?

First replacement was from my doner vehicle, second off eBay. The oil cooler was also off my doner, which has been sat for a couple of years now…

That’s three different lay-bys on same stretch of road in the last week…. Locals are starting to make jokes now…

Yep going to get around to that but gonna have to get my neighbour to tow it back home from the lay-by first! Luckily not too far!

Hi all, The TD5 woes are coming thicker and faster these days… After installing a replacement oil cooler housing (used), I’ve gone through THREE oil filter housings, which are all cracking in the exact same place - just to the left of where the...

Aha! In the knowledge that I had another spare quick connect from my doner connected to the fuel cooler, I just went ahead and tried to pull the inner tab mechanism out from the inside of the connector… and it actually comes out quite easily if...

Haha! Good philosophy… I ordered a 8mm Barb which arrived today (judged on the size of the fuel line), but what I didn’t account for was that there is an inner 6mm plastic line on the inside of the rubber one… annoying! But fairly certain if I...

If you do it and works means it was a good idea, if it leaks it was not ;) ... meanwhile google out "fuel line quick connector" cos there is a huge variety of them on the market some of them cheaper than chips

Reinstalled my engine this afternoon and after a couple of minutes running the green fuel delivery line popped out of the FPR. The quick fit connector seems to be faulty - it clicks on but is easily pulled back out. I don’t particularly want to...

Hey all, I’ve removed my engine as one of the core plugs had completely failed (underneath the FPR). Obviously makes a lot of sense to do some maintenance while it’s out! Gonna change all the core plugs and there’s quite a bit of red stuff...
