can a R reg 98 discovery 3.9ltr v8 auto on lpg which has 145,000 miles be reliable , want to use as daily hack to work and for towing 1200kg caravan about, main outing being to cornwall 360 miles many thanks :blabla:

twin 35 ltr tanks,filled mine up from empty and only managed 45 litres and that gives me about 140 miles,should i get more in

i can only get about 40ltrs in which gives me about 140 miles

how much lpg should i get in my two 35ltr tanks and how many miles:confused2:

a very good land rover v8 knowledgable mechanic mate of mine has just said that if running ok while on gas to leave well alone,gas being more likely to falter. the motor being set up for gas (10deg advanced)will cause poor running when on petrol

should i worry about mine being an automatic and how is best to use box when towing

no i sold 300tdi and bought this bargain basement v8, couldnt resist it just hope that she proves to be a reliable workhorse. havent had her long so dont know what theyre like,hope i dont regret getting rid of tdi or even spending more to invest in a td5, comments gladly excepted :welcome2:

flush coolant change and new thermostat might have to be ordered whilst keeping close eye on temp gauge ,towing for 1st time,caravan to whitby next week will be test for her

is that semi senthetic and any make every 6000k and while im at it im thinking of maybe flushing and changing coolant is there a technique for this ,then when im all done hopefully she will keep running and stay reliable
