Hello, I haven't checked or tested the regulator yet but I do have a spare on another pump that I may use if needs be . Pump was professionally refurbished four years ago by a diesel specialist.
Injector 3 and 4 were leaking back very fast as soon as I started the LP pump . (Not engine on)...

So I've done a quick leak back test before i head to work by letting the LP run till time out . Injector 4 starts leaking back very quickly. 3 leaking back slower . 2 and 1 very very little. Perhaps I'm getting closer to the problem .

Using my HawkEye Total i'm getting a P1190 Fuel pressure plausibility governor deviation versus engine speed to high DTC.
Symptoms are:
Engine takes longer to start around six to eight secs only when cold
A slight rough idle when warm
ECU lights the fault lamp when engine is under heavy load...

New Tyres all round finally fitted today. Yokohama GO15 with tracking done too

Does anyone know the correct injector code for a Freelander 1 2003 automatic? I have two spare injectors sitting on the bench with different codes . 0445110130 and 0445110049 .

I was going to change my battery in my 2003 TD4 thinking it would be a 5 mins job tonight before it got dark . How wrong I was . I cannot move the plastic bracket that holds down the old battery . The bolt goes round and round but does not come up to allow any movement in the bracket . I checked...

Thank you to everyone that has helped on this . Esppicially the people who said it was the fuel rail sensor . The plug was actually the wrong way round! It fits well the wrong way round and tight the correct way round . All sorted now. Engine running very well .

I will take off the manifold and have a look at all plugs and wiring when I get the chance .
Does the engine management light supposed to go out after a few secs after turning key into position II?

Synergy was brand new . I've removed it and still it won't start . I've tried priming the pump several times and took off the return feed at the tank and diesel came through.
It's crazy to think all I did was change the diesel filter and clean the intake manifold plus all new filters and oil .
