Is it the body or just the bolts and stuff underneath etc?
-
Is that the early models or facelifts? I only like facelift ones tbh but I did have an L series Anniversary model once upon a time

10 years ago when I last looked at Freelanders, there were plenty of dogs, but none rusty. I don't think I've ever seen a rusty one. Has time caught up with them?

I had a very nice series 3 :

It was very solid, only rust was a passenger floor and a single outrigger, both of which I replaced. It was still dead unreliable, dead horrid to drive if you appreciate any form...

Hi Mate! I come from the 'other' Christchurch but have always been tempted by the new one over there...

So....
I'm getting the Freelander bug again. This was my last one and it was a good one, especially after all the work I did but the rear diff blew it guts out and locked up at 85mph on the A34 which wasn't fun. That was when I'd swore I'd never get another Freelander again. Bloody...

Can't remember what I did, but I think I modded the standard one to fit.

I'm changing my stat today- but on my VW van. Looks like a 15 minute job!! :)

Cool! I'd be up for that! I wanted to paddle all our floods, but there's far too many barb wire fences about and a bit of a flow so not a good idea at all.. :(
Oh, done nothing to my Freelander today- too busy looking at Alfa GTs and X Trails to replace it with.

That's very true. I've lost confidence in my Freelander now. His turbo blew after a couple of weeks of him buying it, but easy enough to change. The oil drain pipe on it is very small IIRC. Combine that with poor turbo maintenance, 'extended' oil changes and being up front behind the rad might...

Get a Ford Bronco instead- I would!!!

I'm beginning to hear you...
I just find the styling so boring. The interior is very well thought out and I love the cup heaters/coolers and the secret heated pasty locker in the dash. Just all feels a bit cheap, despite being very good build quality. The 6th gear is a bonus and it really flies...

I thought mine was quite pokey on 10. Then after I got mine off the tow truck, I took my mates DCi X Trail for a spin (136bhp). It revs light and freely like a petrol whereas mine feels a bit sluggy, and his really flies in 3rd. Hmm....
