Is this the Slut of all Landies?

I just don't think you have to spend loads of money that you don't have, to get the functionality you want out of a 90.

Is this the Slut of all Landies?

Oh yes and I have a few 12v sockets rigged up so that I can charge up my 'phone etc from the car battery even when the engine isn't running, and run a fridge too. I want to put in a second battery so I can run the fridge when parked without fear of running down the starter battery. Charging...

Sorry, I forgot to mention there is a scythe secured to the 'dog guard' too!

Is this the Slut of all Landies?

Nah, I disagree! Admittedly my expeditions are mostly up mountainous green lanes, but there's the trick. A '90 can get to a lot of places that a 110 can't, in terms of manoeuvrability. I couldn't possibly afford the kind of money that's being talked about here. For a few hundred quid...

I like chequer plate, but then my sills and the bottom of my doors were starting to go.

I didn't do a great sales job on them, did I? The idea of dead bolts is great, and if the product didn't have so many niggling things about it, it would be a good idea. Making it out of aluminium might be a start. Providing the right bolts might be another idea. Not sure what I can...

Well, there are a few things. Firstly, the bars are quite heavy. Which would be ok if they served a practical purpose as tree sliders, but they don't stick out enough from the body of the car to really serve in that respect. So for practical purposes, they don't need to be half as long as they...

I don't think I'm going to fit these after all, I might go for a different solution. If someone wants them, please do make me an offer - they are brand new with all the bits.

What did you use to cut them down, a hacksaw or angle grinder? Thanks for the advice :)

Nice - right, I can see that maybe this is the best solution now. Hmmm ...

Hi Terry, Thanks very much for this - very interesting. I'm wondering whether to get some aluminium rivet nuts and use them instead of the self-locking nuts provided. That way I can do the job alone and also avoid an electrolytic corrosion between steel bolts and the body of the car, if...

They've arrived - how the bloody hell do you fit them? The nuts only seem to go partway onto the bolts, is that right? Do the bolts go from the inside of the car out or vice versa? They seem pretty chunky though!
