Disco 2 Discovery 2 Suspension Guide

Not all insurance companies are created equally. 1- Over the years I've had, 'no report required but increased premium'. 2 - 'Engineers' report, which consisted of someone we knew who worked for a major chain checking everything was tight with no leaks and headed notepaper ! TBH, they would...

    Discover 4 Oil Overfill

A new member has recently posted about shards coming out the drain plug of his gearbox. Never hurts to have an occasional 'deep delve'.

    Metal shards in transmission

Another reason why oil should, at least occasionally, be drained via the drain plug. Keep us informed how you get on.

Disco 2 Discovery 2 Suspension Guide

A proper Engineer, MoT station or reputable garage should be able to do an insurance acceptable inspection. Any modification can affect insurance, but particularly ones involving major items like suspension. You could easily find yourself uninsured with a BIG bill and possibly uninsurable. A...

    Disco' 2 Rear Seats

Discovery 2, 6th & 7th folding seats in beige. Bought these to fit in rear of a Series but although they 'will' fit the work involved is beyond me ! Need a clean and one of the adjusting handles has broken otherwise decent condition with no rips. Includes fixture and fittings. £60 Sorry, not...

Be aware that if you modify that could lead to increased insurance. Do it properly and get it checked.

    Discover 4 Oil Overfill

Well I like to learn but both my wife's 2015 Ford and Daughters 2018 Vw have sump plugs. If these where designed to be vacced out is the dipstick tube removable as I don't think the tube would be wide enough ? Often the first signs of engine wear are through debris coming out with the oil...

    Discover 4 Oil Overfill

I would think through the sump was the proper way as that is how they where designed and I think that would enable any bigger bits to be brought out with the oil. 🤔 I had a similar issue to Stanley with the sump plug being overtightened by an over enthusiastic previous owner. I took it to a...

    Discover 4 Oil Overfill

Wasn't it a thing for some garages to suck the oil out through the dipstick tube rather than the proper way to save time during an oil change ?

    Discover 4 Oil Overfill

I hope Francis gets back and lets us know how he got on. Mistakes do happen. Sometime ago, my TD5 went in for a Service at a local and well respected garage. I told them it takes an age to show correct level on dipstick when toping up, so to put in the measured amount. Go away, have a cup a tea...

    Good old scrappy

Yea, the good ones are few and far between. Of two closest to me one deals only in Fords and they will let you look around, the other, which was once good now only sell the major parts. To trade only !

Inner rear lights not functioning, because Italian design!?

You could pop the tailboard off and have a look and see if wiring is present ? Probably LED rather than a bulb but you should be able to see if that part of the light 'could' illuminate. To be honest the dealer appears to have gone through a lot of trouble to find an answer. If it was possible...

Inner rear lights not functioning, because Italian design!?

Friend of mine 'upgraded' his Audi using dealer spec' software. He was an Auto Elec at the time.

Inner rear lights not functioning, because Italian design!?

That does look like an option, but I thought 'Signature' was the flickering effect where the light starts at one end ?

Discovery 2 door wont open (N/S behind passenger).

I'm pretty sure you can take the door card off with the door closed on the D2. Remove Screw behind door pull, take off plastic trim. I think the winder is on a spring clip to remove. Take surround from lock and push up pad with window down. Take your time and don't force anything. With pad off...
