All sorted and back together, running smoothly and quietly again... Didn't do the p gasket in the end as I needed her back on the road asap. Couldn't and wouldn't have done it without you guys so thanks again 👍👍

What is a new p gasket by the way, I've seen lots of searches about it but not sure which one it really is. And if I need to remove the fan to do it I don't have the spanner either... My plan was just to replace the broken water pump and get it all refilled and working again asap

okay then, do I need to remove any parts to get to these bolts (inner wing or plastic shroud thing) or is it just a case of loosening them enough for some movement. don't want trash my wing as I've only just repainted it 😂

Tensioner feels rock solid, spins freely, as does the alternator. Hoses are all good, no overheating issues, so its obviously still working ok the pump for the minute, just sounds like crap. im in France and I need the car so until the paddocks order comes in a week or so ill still need to drive...

pretty sure its not the power steering pump, that's down and left on the 300tdi I believe. also can I post audio on here or is it just photos..

sorry just saw your last post miktdish, no tensioning then...

It is a sprung tensioner from what I remember, but surely I could move the alternator a bit to release some tension.
so okay, when I get home later, remove belt, spin everything by hand and see what sounds like crap..
just to confirm it is the water pump in the photo?

Hi guys, so when I started her up this morning there was an obvious clunking/scraping/bad noise that wasn't there before. for the past month shes been running perfectly, engine sounded like a dream, started perfectly and ticked over like a good un. I drove her for about 20mins and the noise is...

Sorry to hijack your thread, just have a quick question. Having watched the videos I now understand the idea of moving/tilting the bulkhead forward to rectify the misalignment problem I have, but can this be done with a fully built vehicle or do I need to whip the roof off or loosen any other...

you're probably right about the compressor, but with the 2k rattle cans I can do it bit by bit at least, that's my excuse and im sticking to it 😂 and its got some black on it too
