    which 20w50 is the one...?

Ha yes...88 It needs a lot more oil when you smack the oil pressure switch while removing ste steering box and it leaks afterwards while you let it run!

    which 20w50 is the one...?

Without going for a "what oil" thread award... I'm a firm fan of the Morris products even though they recommend 10w40 for the 1998 3.5 efi...i'm a user of Golden film 20w50 (https://www.morrislubricantsonline.co.uk/golden-film-sae-20w-50-classic-motor-oil.html?variation_id=1293 ), which from...

    Classic Pump replacement

Not the best picture, but i've got two bars (one each side) running to the chassis rail to brace the tow plate. Maybe an aftermarket one before i got it?

    Classic Pump replacement

Don't the two 45 degree stabilisers ned to be unbolted at one end? I remember something of that ilk. Towbar itself didn't need to be touched.

    Classic Pump replacement

i'd think a proper garage with a trained spanner wrangler should be done in two hours?

    Classic Pump replacement

The dropping etc isn't that bad. Worse case you cut bolts and put nice new SS ones in with some copaslip. Then the next time you do it (and there will be a next time...) it's fairly painless. When i did mine i had to drain and drop the tank twice as the new pump was wired backwards to the...

    Surely not...52.33mm really?

well hub and everything back on with apparently the correct end float. Now i just need the steering box back from Kiley Clinton and she should be good to go (and get an MoT...)

    Surely not...52.33mm really?

i got the Sealey one...although i've never actually unwrapped it - i use it in the original postal black bag wrapping- keeps it nice and clean!

    Surely not...52.33mm really?

Doing the hubs (1988 RRC) and thought i'd be all smart and get a 52mm socket for the adjustment rather than pipe wrenches... Bought one, it arrived nicely packed by the seller from eBay. Laid out my prayer mat and began the service. Amen. Very odd....the hub nut won't quite fit the socket...

    Spoke too soon!

https://www.distributordoctor.com/ i've had various bits from him over time - always very helpful. Also had the entire distributor gubbins serviced and calibrated which transformed fuel consumption. Good kit and advice - i've been impressed.

    Spoke too soon!

I went with the big fat Magnecore ones (the ones that don't fit in the LR lead holder comb https://www.magnecor.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Magnecor-Retail-Catalogue-Web-1.pdf ), but they have had no issues in about 4 years of use and are still flexible and good. Genuine for the cap. I...

Where is that bloody water coming from in the footwell?

For pre-93 (I think) everything ran on R12 which was wonderful apart from being pretty bad for the environment. They moved to R134 which doesn't work in R12 equipment (well it does for a while and then ruins it - different oils etc). Most people seem to have either abandoned R12 and do without...

Where is that bloody water coming from in the footwell?

RRC 1988 with fully working aircon - brilliant you may think. Well yes, in one way, but the squelchy carpet says otherwise. exit tube is clear and in case anyone worries there is no water under the vehicle it exits onto the exhaust... however there are two water drains off the a/c as far as i...
