Thanks Phill, great idea re multicolour. Will investigate. Can I just check though that a single colour LED would literally just be wired to the same switch terminal as the leisure feed (rather than the feed coming via the LED if you see what I mean), as in my rubbish diagram below?

I did wonder whether a connection became dodgy only when the switch was fully reseated. But I'd be surprised - I also tried testing it pretty much in situ with all the connectors almost completely on, just leaving enough space to get a probe in, and all the earths/supplies were fine. Argh!

My 300Tdi's "warning triangle" light on the hazard light switch won't come on. Hazard function, indicators, dash lights etc all work fine.
Tried replacing switch with both a new Britpart cheapo one and a new Lucas pricey one but still no joy.
Tried disconnecting the new switch completely and...
