Dear All, my auto V8 Disco I is not going to be driven for about three weeks so I was planning to disconnect the battery. (The heat in Malaysia is notorious for shortening battery life.) Does anyone know if this is going to cause problems? e.g. ECU etc. that needs a constant power supply...

I had a similar difficulties with my '96 V8i - usually it would start fine, but on occasions (usually when hot) absolutely nothing. The starter solenoid turned out to be the problem, had no problems starting it since. Cheers Andy

Hi All, I just found your site today - it looks really good. I've a 1996 Series I Discovery 3.9L (and a 1996 Jeep Cherokee 2.5L - not sure if that's a dirty word on this site!) bought a couple of years ago. The Disco seems to be a reasonable good un that hasn't caused me too many problems...
