Hi, driving my wifes 2012 freelander 2 this AM and noticed a gush of air (sound) when accelerating off a roundabout. Kept driving and didn't notice any smoke and power wasn't down - although I didn't push it, drove carefully home just in case it was something critical. Wondering if anyone else...

Would that make an intermittent rattle...I drove a mile today with no noise...drove back and it sounded like someone had taken out a half shaft and bent it...really odd...I need to take that wheel off and check though.

Hi Dora, no not sorted yet...it's not the gear/transfer...and the UJs look OK, maybe a little worn. I think it's something in the front axel...but what do I know, oils are new...I do have a knackered ball joint seal on the off side. It sounds like a metal rod inside a metal tube occasionally...

Afternoon. I've noticed a rattle (when moving) from my landy over last couple of weeks, it's getting worse and louder. Sounds like it's something turning as it matches the speed I'm going...when I slow down it slows down, checked diff oil etc but not gear or transfer. Vague I know...anyone...

I've had the same issue....changed filter and pump still have champagne at the bleeder. Where was this plastic union? Might be my issue. Glad you sorted yours.

I replaced the lift pump and filter...the pump was knackered, a split diaphragm maybe - checked before hand removing banjos to see what was working where. It ran OK for a day...then is lost a little power...followed by a fizzy diesel on the bleeder. Now nothing on the bleeder, no diesel just...

You're probably right WalderShelf - I'm being over cautious...the rear NS caliper looked like dog **** when I removed it so might just replace while I'm 'down there' so to speak.

Great info James, I'll change the calipers rear (they worried me, so peace of mind) replace PRV and bleed - probably best to check pedal first before I get stuck in. Thank you....a huge help, hopefully simple and straight forward. Best Tim
