Help police have seized my pride and joy

Quick update Spoke to the dvla today and they’ve told me to send off section 10 of the original logbook with a v62 form and they will re issue a new registration number, as the police didn’t remove the vin tag from the top of the brake servo then that number remains with my Landy just not the...

They said it is stolen and has been identified from the engine/serial numbers to be from a previous stolen vehicle

Basically I’ve sat waiting all this time for them to say the engine and gearbox were from a stolen land rover that went missing years ago and as my chassis doesn’t have a number stamped into it then the f registration plate that was on my 90 doesn’t relate to it anymore? It’s early days I need...

Help police have seized my pride and joy

A friend of mine did a similar thing to a classic mini and replaced the complete shell, along with 99% of all the other parts and he had no issues. I bet there are 100s of other land rovers on the road that have had the same rebuild/restoration as mine all I can do is sit tight and wait for them...

Yes my intention was to keep my 1988 alive and save it from the crusher, it was just a bit worse than I first thought and the further I got into it the more rust I found!

The chassis I was told was a genuine new chassis, where the number was supposed to be was just flat like it had never been stamped and there were no signs of any type of grinding, the seller is still on eBay now with these chassis advertised for 90 and 110 land rovers.

Thanks for everyone's comments and input, just so people are aware I will explain what I did, I first bought a 1988 rotten 90 csw I then purchased a genuine tdci chassis from a company on eBay that specialises in genuine chassis (year of manufacture unsure as it had no Id) I then removed the...

Help police have seized my pride and joy

I've rang everyday for 2 weeks but it's made no difference my solicitors said I need to be patient and wait for them to do what they need to do, I just thought there might have been someone else that had been in a similar situation on here and could give me an idea of what to expect.

Well these are things I never even thought about when rebuilding it as I thought the parts could be swapped for like for like parts due to the old being to far gone to repair, but it's not until it's too late before you realise.

Yeah that's what I thought when I first got pulled over, I never in a million years thought it would end up at this!

My solicitor said they are checking it for suspected stolen parts and the other vehicle I bought was a cat b (I have a friend with a scrap yard so the chassis went back to him once the salvageable parts were removed) I retained the original 1988 F registration, I've got photos of the build and...
